RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT MINOR
The minor in Restaurant Management provides students with a foundation for understanding the global food and beverage industry. The required laboratory experience provides students with the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in the award-winning full-service restaurant, Vita Nova. The sixty seat restaurant features an open display kitchen, the Copeland Wine Education Center, Darden Bistro, the Marriott television demonstration kitchen studio and the ARAMARK food production center.
The Restaurant Management minor is open to students in any major except for majors in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management (HRIM) and Hospitality Industry Studies. Admission will be based upon the availability of seats and the GPA of the student; a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 will be required for consideration. Applications may be obtained from the Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management Department office located in Raub Hall and will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
